You would help your client get in touch with ideal customers from their niche who could potentially be interested in their offering, or help them find and connect with your client’s Facebook group, or Instagram account to learn more about the topic. In this case, your client should give you their ideal customer avatar’s details and demographics.

The customer demographics, as you can see on the Insight section of a Facebook business page include key details about the customers such as age and gender group, country, type of education, and interest… You need to understand who are your clients’ ideal customer avatars, know where to look for them, and engage with them on social media. You could contact your target audience through Facebook DMs, or Instagram DMs.

Your client could also instruct you where to find their ideal customers. You need to initiate a genuine conversation with people on social media platforms. You are expected to build quality connections and understand how the targeted individual would benefit from becoming a member of your client’s Facebook group, following their Instagram account, or even reacting to a social media post’s CTA (call to action) by clicking on the offered course for instance.

SEO Expert

You could also work remotely as an SEO Expert, or anything related to search engine optimization. Google and social media platforms are going to exist for some time, and users require skilled SEO professionals to achieve their goals. Quality content can only be found after a well-optimized search engine. No matter whether you want your audience to find your blog posts or YouTube videos, you need to put in the work to optimize your content to get results.

To become great at SEO, you need to see through how the topics you want to cover meet your audience’s needs. You need to understand the content type of your client, and use SEO tools to research and find out the best keywords. When they use the right keywords, it ensures they get a high ranking, and people find them easily. You can best serve people when you identify how people search and what they do to meet their needs, to give them the answers they seek.

You can learn SEO using YouTube tutorials, or if you can afford to pay for courses, you could check what’s available on Udemy, or Skillshare. You can also do specific SEO optimization on YouTube if that’s your area of interest. The sooner you find out which platform you want to specialize in, the better.

Online Community Manager

There is also a high demand for online community managers. Most people with social media presence don’t have the time to engage with their followers because they are busy creating content and maintaining their business. However, community engagement is a key aspect of a successful social media presence, so they cannot avoid this crucial part! This is when you could help out your client in this capacity to get people involved and motivate engagement!

Just interacting with your client’s followers daily, answering their questions, and giving them guidance and useful tips can take a lot of time, and it is providing great value to them. This inspires interaction in the community. So if you are a people person who enjoys communicating online with like-minded people with whom you share common interests, you could enjoy this role! You only need to dedicate some time every day or every other day, and it is an easy task to do.

You need to be informed of the plans, actions, and goals in your given group to effectively serve your client’s and their audience’s needs. Questions you could answer can range from giving advice and guidance, dates and place of events in the future, and any additional information they may require related to offered products or services. You would need to manage the given community and engage with them. You could become very close to them and it can be amazing.

Channel Manager (YouTube, Instagram, podcasts)

You could do this role next to being an online community manager, or separately as well. You would help your client schedule and upload posts, work with thumbnails, etc., making sure that content is produced on time. You don’t need to be a media expert if you want to become a channel manager if this is what you enjoy doing. Understanding how the given social media platform works is more important than having a great experience in this field.

How to upload content, or what information is required to properly upload any content, be it video with great titles, well-created captions, or how to schedule a new post, etc. Working remotely is not rocket science, it takes effort and perseverance to succeed! If you don’t know how any software or process works, a quick Google or YouTube search can be your best friend, as well as taking courses as you develop!


You need a good internet connection, a laptop, and some basic knowledge of operating systems, software, and social media. You could search for online remote work on various freelance sites such as Upwork or Fiverr. Note that these sites usually charge a 20% service fee when you start working on their sites. One of the greatest challenges of working online can be finding your niche or specialty. Start with something you can do and upskill later!
