South Africa has imposed emergency measures and is declaring a number of areas catastrophe areas, in response to the worst drought in dwelling reminiscence.

Some areas have gone with out substantial rainfall for as much as 5 years.

The BBC’s Africa correspondent Andrew Harding visited one small city which lies on the coronary heart of the disaster.
