The presidents of Russia and Turkey have agreed a deal to share management of northeast Syria which might drive the Kurds to withdraw past a so-called ‘secure zone’.
Turkey had paused its offensive in opposition to the Kurds – who they name terrorists – with the ceasefire as a result of expire.
